I took three photos of Braylon Peterson, Grant Polisi, and Luke Sheehan and interviewed them to see what they were feeling at the moment and learn more about their tackle football career outside of school.
How did you feel during this photo? Why?
Peterson: “I felt excited for the game to start, because it was our first middle school football game.”
Polise: “I felt very excited because we waited an hour and fifteen minutes to get on the field.”
Sheehan: “I felt angry that that guy could grab my jersey and pull me down. Because I would have got a lot more yards if he didn’t.”
How do you think your team felt?
Peterson: “A little nervous but excited.”
Polise: “ I think my team also felt excited because it was our first game.”
Sheehan: “I think they felt pretty happy. I gave like 25 yards. And, yeah, I think they were stoked.”
Do you think you will have more moments like this during the season? Why or Why not?
Peterson: “Yes, It’s going to be a great year to play as teammates.”
Polise: “Indefinitely.”
Sheehan: “Yeah, I think I will. I think I’ll have a lot more yards and a few touchdowns.”
What game are you most looking forward to this season?
Peterson: “Probably, St. Andrews.”
Polise: “St. Edwards again.”
Sheehan: “Probably the game that we play in St. Edwards again.”
What is your favorite part about playing tackle football for The Benjamin School?
Peterson: “We get out of school early, and I get to play with my friends.”
Polise: “The practices are fun and we do a lot of hitting drills.”
Sheehan: “Just how fun it is and what a great environment it is to be there.”
Do you play tackle football outside of school?
Polise: “No, this is my first season.”
Sheehan: “I did it for two years, and then I got to middle school, and I played for middle school.”
What do you like more, playing football for the school or outside of school?
Peterson: “Probably outside of school because it’s a bit more competitive, but in school it’s more fun.”
You play lacrosse outside of the school too. What do you like more?
Polise: “Probably lacrosse because I’ve been playing longer.”
Sheehan: “I’ve always liked lacrosse more. I’ve been playing it since I was two, so I’ve always had that, and my older brother is going to college for that, so me and him both really like lacrosse.”
What is your most memorable moment while playing football?
Polise: “Putting on my pads for the first time.”
Sheehan: “Probably when we were on the one-yard line, and I scored a 99-yard touchdown.”
Why do you play football?
Peterson: “My family played football.”
Polise: “It’s fun.”
Sheehan: “Because it’s fun, and I get to hit people.”
As you can see, Braylon, Grant, and Luke started off their football season great and plan on keeping it the same throughout the season.
