This is good advice for any student.

Midterms are a time dreaded by most students, but also an exciting time because it serves as a gateway to winter break and the holidays. For most people, especially me, midterms are a time of being stressed and overwhelmed; but if you manage your time properly, the stress level goes down (just a tad). As an opinionated journalist, I am going to log my midterm week experience for everyone to see, so here you go:

Monday, 14 December, 2015:

That one word says it all. I came to school not actually that sad that the weekend was over, because, as soon as this week is over, it’s WINTER BREAK! Although midterms don’t technically start until Tuesday, I studied all of yesterday for the first part of my math exam. I am glad I finished my math exam, but there are still two more parts. I had the test G period, right before Fall Sports Awards. Sports awards was a nice way to end the day because it was relaxing and a distraction from exam prep. In most of my classes, the first half was spent reviewing and the second half was used as a study hall. After school, I had to study for part two of my math exam and for my language arts exam. One test down, seven more to go. Only four days left until Winter Break!

Tuesday, 15 December, 2015:

Today I had my language arts exam and the second part of my math exam.  The language arts exam was okay because I am not very good at diagramming, and I almost ran out of time. The math exam was easy because it was just constructions, and I am really good at them.  The rest of the day’s classes were spent as study halls and reviewing. I also had the listening portion of my Spanish exam today. It wasn’t that bad but there was a lawnmower right outside the classroom so we had to turn the volume up really high, so I got a headache.  After school I studied a little with Mrs. Rudner for English, and it was really helpful. Thank you, Mrs. Rudner!  When I got home, I had to study for Spanish which was hard because we had to review everything we learned since sixth grade. I was really happy because we had grilled cheese and tomato soup for dinner because of the even bigger midterms tomorrow. Four tests down, five more to go. Three more days until WINTER BREAK!

Today was the first official day of exams. Today was my English test and my Spanish test. English was really hard because I had to write six paragraphs and I almost didn’t finish.  After midterms I stayed for the study halls, but it was hard to study because there were so many people all doing different things.  In my study hall for science, we played Kahoot as a study method.  It was really fun, but also really loud.  I am worried for the math exam tomorrow because I am really bad at proofs, but I am a little less nervous because we get to have our handmade notes with us during the test.  I studied a lot for science, I read through my whole science binder.  I am so excited winter break is just around the corner.  Math and science exams tomorrow! Six tests down, three more left.  Two days until WINTER BREAK!

Thursday, 17 December, 2015:

Ah, almost done with exams and into the freedom of Winter Break.  Today was really hard because I had my geometry test and then my science test. Geometry was not super hard but was very long, and I almost didn’t finish, but we got 10 extra minutes.  Then I was able to get all of my energy out on the soccer field which was fun because I am really bad at soccer.  Then I had my science exam and it was okay.  Not easy but not particularly hard. Lunch was a nice relaxing time knowing that I only have one more exam.  The study hall was helpful for the history exam tomorrow. We played Kahoot again and it was really fun because there were so many people playing.  I had to study long and hard for the history exam because there is a lot to remember.  Eight tests down, ONE MORE TO GO! One more day until WINTER BREAK!
