Spreading Hate
Kanye West Has Recently Been Saying Rude Anti-Semitic Comments on Social Media
Kanye “Ye” West is one of the most famous rappers of all time. Recently, West has been struggling with his well-being. Companies that he associated with have been slowly dropping him based on his behavior towards the Jewish people and other ethnicities, races, and, religions.
As of October 25, 2022, according to Business Insider, companies such as Adidas, Gap, Balenciaga, JP Morgan Chase, CAA, MRC, and Twitter have parted ways with Kanye.
Seventh-grader Jack Baker agrees with the company’s decisions. “Indubitably I believe he should not have those deals. He was anti-semitic and should have lost his deals for his anti-semitism,” he said. “Although he is a great artist, I believe he is mentally ill and should not have those deals.”
Students and teachers at The Benjamin School also have opinions on West’s recent behavior.
“I love his music more than any other music,” said eighth-grader Griffon Alterman. “But his opinions on different religions and races are unbelievably incorrect. He is canceled for a reason and he deserves it. Although, I wish he never said those things because I enjoy his music very much.”
Famous celebrities have also reacted on social media to Kanye West’s behavior. Recently, rapper Lil Yachty was on an episode on Full Send Podcast, which was filmed and posted on November 4, 2022. On the podcast, Lil Yachty stated his opinion on West. According to the episode he was featured on Full Send Podcast, they asked him, “What do you think about the Kanye West stuff right now?” His response was saying that it was crazy and that Jewish people do not deserve the hate Kanye was giving them.
Lil Yachty is not the only one who said their opinion. According to Billboard, current NBA Hall of Famer and former NBA player Shaquille “Shaq” O’Neal, responded to what West said about him.
Kanye tweeted, “Shaq is in business with Jamie Salter. Jamie’s first said he’s 50/50 with David Beckham and 50/50 with Shaq. I said “Jamie … There’s no such thing as 50/50 in business … Who has the extra 1 percent of the control voting right”’
Shaq responded later that night saying, “Believe me you don’t know me like that. Worry about your business, and to quote the once great Kanye West, “I got more money than you, so why would I listen to you?” Take my advice, get your family business in order. Have a great day brother.” This whole Kanye West and Shaquille O’Neal conflict happened on November 3, 2022.
Due to Kanye’s discrimination, he has lost a lot of sponsorships, which has led to him no longer being a billionaire. According to the New York Post, some of West’s fans created a GoFundMe to “make him a billionaire again,” which is the second subtitle of the article by Jack Hobbs.
