  • Mrs. Schnurr and Mrs. Devine’s Documentary Club will meet in Room 46 during Clubs today.

  • Unless absolutely necessary for an assignment, headphones, earbuds, Air Pods, etc. are prohibited from being used by students in classrooms and on campus. Failure to comply will result in a green slip.
  • Students, please store your binders, books, and belongings in your lockers in the morning and before lunch. Those belongings should not be left unattended around the Buc Café, lunch tables, or other open areas around campus. Thank you.
  • Binders:  Students should not be carrying their laptops and textbooks in their binders.  This is causing the binders to eventually break and the need to replace them.  Please look into purchasing a soft case to carry your laptops to protect them.
  • Please remember to pick up/turn in your assignments on days you have to leave early for sports. These assignments will count as late and missing if you do not.
  • Students, please remember that if you borrow a charger or laptop from Mr. Felder in the MS Office that it needs to be returned at the end of the day on which you borrowed the item(s). Failure to do so may result in a green slip. Also, the student who borrowed the item must return it as that student is responsible for the charger and/or laptop. Do not ask other students to return the item(s) for you.

If you signed up for MS Golf, please read the email that was sent to you OR the list will be posted on the gym doors as per your day to qualify.. any questions, please see Coach Harbeck

To Students: Please consider our curricular theme this year, Impact:  The power of our words and actions.”  This year’s theme will help us explore how the words we use and the actions we take impact others and our community.
Behavior: Remember our classroom expectations, code of conduct, Honor Code, and 12 Values.  As always, please demonstrate the excellent behavior expected of Benjamin students.
This is a wonderful opportunity for us to continue to learn and grow together as a kind and helpful community.

Reading Competition!

Are you reading an extra credit book for history or English? Maybe you are reading a book for pleasure outside of the classroom? If so, make sure to check in with your history or English teacher to complete the “Reading Competition Write up.” Don’t worry; it’s not a book report or an essay. You just need to complete a brief book review. Your teacher will then sign off on your review, and your pages will be logged. Encourage your advisory group to get reading, too! The advisory group with the most participants and most pages read by the end of the quarter will win a special advisory lunch of their choice. Please see Mrs. Ferguson with any questions.

Congratulations to our Leaders of the week chosen by Mrs. Tanona:  Emmie Hill and Jack Selcuk

I am pleased to honor Emmie Hill as Leader of the Week. Emmie is a student who models the phrase “choose joy” regularly.  She can often be seen smiling and laughing in the hallways with friends.  She is receptive to feedback and is always willing to ask questions about what she may need to do to improve.  She has grown tremendously this year as a math student. When Emmie is not representing the Bucs on the court or on the field, she can be found in the math classroom.  During study hall or before school, she is often  working on homework problems or study guides so that she can understand as best she can. Emmie is patient, kind, and a friend to all.

I am pleased to honor Jack Selcuk as Leader of the Week.  Jack is a student in my Algebra I class and I witness firsthand the dedication he has to his studies. He is an engaged student in the class whether he is asking questions for clarification or helping a peer who may need assistance. He is always willing to jump in and help, never asking for praise or validation.  Jack is a fun-loving member of our community who regularly models high performing student qualities like perseverance, respect, and dedication and all with a great sense of humor.

Also, congratulations to these students chosen by Mrs. York: Alex Simonet and Angela Sun

Alex Simonet is a quiet leader around campus and in his classes.  You can count on him to go about his day without much fanfare. At the beginning of class Alex gets to work and stays on task. He is helpful and he is kind to his classmates and to his teachers.  He consistently does what he is supposed to be doing, without reminders and without any drama.  This young man is the epitome of integrity, responsibility and respect. He is also an outstanding World Language student and has beautiful pronunciation when speaking in French.  Mr. and Mrs. Benjamin would be proud to know that a young man like Alex is continuing with our most cherished traditions of kindness, respect, integrity and responsibility. Alex is very deserving of being named leader of the week.

Angela Sun is a steadfast and conscientious worker who consistently does her best to succeed.  She is an outstanding student, but is never arrogant or boastful. She is an exceptional world language student and speaks three languages. She takes suggestions well, and is always willing to work harder and to learn from her past mistakes. She has a positive attitude and a bright smile for those around her. Even though she has a rather discreet personality, she is confident and speaks up when she has something meaningful to share. She is respectful, thoughtful and she is kind.  Mr. and Mrs. Benjamin would be thrilled to know that they have a student like Angela enrolled in their school because she is a true scholar with integrity.
