The Neersyde Honors This Year’s Insyde Award Winners

Each year, The Neersyde presents awards to students who exhibit excellence in several artistic categories. These Insyde Awards (named because the inaugural award winner’s names and work were published “inside” the pages of The Neersyde when it was a printed publication) were given to the top individuals in the following categories this year: artwork, photography, poetry, short film, and short story. The awards were presented during morning assembly on Monday, May 16. The following is a list of this year’s winners:

Artwork

1st Place: Justin Muhlbaier (7th) – “Phoenix Boy”
Honorable Mention: Erik Bernhardt (7th) – “Weave Silk”

Photography

1st Place: Billy Moscatello (8th) – “Sailfish”
Honorable Mention:  Ella Pierman (6th) – “Flower”
Honorable Mention: Nadia Poncy (7th) – “Seashell”

Poetry

1st Place: Rissy Dalton (8th) – “From the Younger Brother’s Perspective”
Honorable Mention: Mitch Faloona (8th) – “Music”
Honorable Mention: Chloe Jezerinac (8th) – “You Will Always Be Beneath My Wing”

Short Film

1st Place: Sophia Liporace & Emeline Smith (7th) – “A Day in the Life of a 6th-Grade Wheel Performer”
Honorable Mention: Jake Zur (6th) – Meccanoid G15KS”

Short Story

1st Place: Christian Baldari (8th) – “Wyoming’s Wilderness: Unscripted”
Honorable Mention: Grace Flatscher (7th)- “Untitled Harry Potter”

Each first-place winner received a Cobb Theater gift card. Honorbale mentions received boxes of chewy Lemonhead candies. Congratulations to all of this year’s winners and participants!
